Polimarine is authorized certification technical bureau for MED. Specific materials and equipment intended to be used on board ships shall be in compliance with the requirements of directive 2014/90/EU on marine equipment, widely known as “MED”.
Whilst most EC directives require the certified products to carry the "CE" mark, products certified under the MED shall be affixed with the “Wheel Mark” together with the unique ID number of the certifying Notified Body and be accompanied by an EC
Declaration of Conformity issued by the respective manufacturers.
MED covers types of marine equipment that fall under the following International Conventions developed by the International Maritime Organization (IMO):
